Bedroom Closet Organization

Give yourself a few days to get through this entire process.

Step 1: Declutter

We always want to jump on Walmart or Amazon and buy all the organization items, but let’s declutter first.

Make a space in your bedroom or bathroom and let’s pull everything out of the closet. Create 2-3 piles. A favorite pile, An OK pile of things you wear sometimes and a Giveaway/Donate pile.

As you pull your items out, ask yourself when was the last time you wore or used the item. If you can’t remember, put it in the giveaway/donate pile. We will go through that pile later.

Continue the process until everything is out of the closet.

Step 2: Assess What you Have

One thing to consider is creating a capsule wardrobe. This makes getting ready easy and quick and then you aren’t buying impulse items that don’t have a purpose. I use this Capsule Digital product to help me create mine.

Go to the favorite pile and see what you have. This is a great time to see if anything needs to be replaced or repaired.  Separate the items so you will be ready to place them back into the closet.

Before we get to pile 2 and 3 grab some large trash bags.

Next, look at the 2nd pile. Ask yourself a few questions.

  1. When was the last time I wore it
  2. Does it fit well and do I feel good when I wear it? (if no, consider giveaway/donate)

Place the items you don’t want in a large trash bag. It will feel so good to have space in your closet.

Finally, look at pile 3. Ask yourself the same questions above:

  1. When was the last time I wore it
  2. Does it fit well and do I feel great when I wear it?

Like before, place the items you don’t want in a large trash bag. It will feel so good to have space in your closet.

Organize Your Bedroom Closet

You are on a roll so let’s figure out how to organize your closet. Walmart has some great pieces to organize the closet and they usually have same day or next day pick up.

If you find some items that are larger you need picked up and don’t have a large truck, grab a pickup at Uhaul and a few high school boys to help you pick up, load and unload.

This organizer is adjustable from 4-9 feet and is available in 4 different colors. You will love having both the drawers and hanging rods.  You will be able to hold up to 350 pieces of clothing.

Jewelry Organizer

As you decluttered, did you find a ton of jewelry? These jewelry holders can be placed on a wall either in your closet or somewhere in your bedroom or bathroom. I love how you can put perfume bottles on top. Make sure and attach to a stud if you put it on a wall.

Shoe Organizer

Whether you have room in your closet or maybe the perfect spot in your bedroom, I love that you can sit on the bench and put your shoes on. It’s just a great bedroom closet organization product.

Undergarment organizer

These are so great for drawers. No more throwing things in the drawer and then hunting for them in the mornings.  Bedroom Closet organization is all about knowing what you have, what needs to be bought, repaired or replaced and stress free mornings.

You can definitely go down a rabbit hole when you are doing bedroom closet organization but you can also do it really well on a budget.

If this isn’t your forever home, make sure that any of your bedroom closet organization can be taken out and taken to a new home.
